One team.
Many disciplines.

Ashwa Racing is the Formula Student team of RV College of Engineering. For 22 years, generations of students have taken on the full challenge of motorsport engineering: from first sketches and simulations to fabrication, testing, and the start line.

Our work brings mechanical, electrical, electronics, and software engineering together with planning, finance, and operations. Students own real decisions, learn from one another, and pass hard-won knowledge on to the next team.

Every season starts with a new set of constraints. Our teams turn them into machines, systems, and ideas we can put to the test.

Ashwa Racing's first Formula Student prototype, RZ05RZ05 · Our first prototype

From the first
to the next.

Our first prototype, RZ05, took Ashwa to Formula SAE Australasia in 2005, where the team received the Best Endeavour and Best Cost awards. Since then, every car has carried forward the work of the students who came before it.

That continuity is part of the engineering: document what you learn, build on it, and leave the next team a stronger starting point.

The same drive.
New frontiers.

Our engineering community has also designed and built a hyperloop pod. The team was a finalist at European Hyperloop Week 2023 at ETH Zürich, taking student-built mobility research beyond the racetrack.
